Dear visitors,
The trail is currently covered with a significant amount of new snow, approximately 1 meter from the base. There are no tracks, making it suitable only for experts equipped with snowshoes or skis. The estimated time to reach the refuge under these conditions is between 6 and 10 hours. Once the snowpack stabilizes and tracks are formed, the average time reduces to 5 to 7 hours for those carrying overnight backpacks. We recommend taking the winter trail through the mallin, passing the Piedritas refuge.
Please avoid unnecessary risks and consider hiring a guide.
Recommended footwear includes mountain boots.
