Trail Status

Dear Visitors,
The trail is currently covered with a significant amount of snow (over 1 meter from the base). We have marked a clear path and kindly ask you to stay within it at all times.
Depending on your physical ability, the ascent is estimated to take between 5 and 8 hours.
In the PIEDRITAS area, there is a detour to avoid avalanche zones; please follow this route.
Below are some recommendations:
- Attire: Mountain boots, gaiters, trekking poles with large baskets, 2 pairs of gloves, rain jacket, waterproof pants, down jacket or similar, sunglasses, sunscreen, warm hat, and scarf (neck gaiter).
- It is advisable to use snowshoes or ski touring equipment. Crampons may be necessary for certain sections.
- Carry a VHF radio and a first aid kit.
- Complete the mandatory free trekking registration on the official APN website: www.nahuelhuapi.gov.ar or at www.clubandino.org/registro-de-trekking.
- Plan your departure considering daylight hours and weather conditions.
