El sendero se encuentra se encuentra en buen estado.

Acceso catedral
Parte baja, primeros 4 kilómetros estado general bueno, sectores con barro, precaución en cruces de arroyos, presencia de hielo.
Sector medio, entre cruce de senderos y piedritas, presencia de hielo, todo día debido a su orientación respecto del sol. Usar crampones de cadena.
Sector superior, de piedritas al refugio, zonas con nieve compacta y sectores con barro. Bien definida la huella.

El tiempo estimado para el ascenso varía según la capacidad física, calculándose entre 4 y 6 horas. En esta época del año disponemos de menor cantidad de horas de luz solar.

A continuación, les brindamos algunas recomendaciones:

Indumentaria
Obligatorio, llevar buen calzado para nieve, bastones, guantes y abrigo invernal.
No olvidar la linterna debido a la poca luz en esta época.

Se recomienda crampones de cadena o de cinta, polainas, cubre pantalón, guantes y bastones.

Llevar radio VHF y botiquín de primeros auxilios.

Ambos accesos, tanto desde Villa Catedral como Lago Gutiérrez están despejados y con buena transitabilidad general.

Realizar el registro de trekking gratuito y obligatorio en el sitio web oficial de APN: www.nahuelhuapi.gov.ar o en www.clubandino.org/registro-de-trekking.

Planificar la salida teniendo en cuenta las horas de luz y las condiciones climáticas. Salir temprano o, al menos, antes del mediodía es fundamental.

Verificar el pronóstico meteorológico en https://www.windguru.cz/377964. antes de subir o reservar en el refugio.

Dear Visitors,

Access via Catedral:

Lower section, first 4 kilometers: overall good condition, some muddy areas, caution at stream crossings, presence of ice.

Middle section, between the trail junction and «Piedritas»: icy conditions throughout the day due to limited sun exposure. Use chain crampons.

Upper section, from «Piedritas» to the refuge: areas with compact snow and muddy patches. The trail is well marked.

The estimated time to ascend is from 4 to 6 hours.

Some recommendations:
Mandatory gear: sturdy snow boots, trekking poles, gloves, and winter clothing.
Don’t forget a headlamp due to limited daylight at this time of year.

Recommended gear: chain or strap-on crampons, gaiters, overpants, gloves, and trekking poles.

Bring a VHF radio and a first aid kit.

Trail access from both Villa Catedral and Lago Gutiérrez is clear and generally in good condition.
